Remove an intimate image

If a photo or video on Beansprout shows you nude, partly nude, or in a sexual act, and it was shared without your consent, you can ask us to remove it. You do not need a Beansprout account. A parent or guardian, or another person authorized to act for you, can ask on your behalf. This is the process the TAKE IT DOWN Act requires of us, and we follow it for everyone.
What to send
- Your name and an email address we can reply to.
- A statement that you are the person shown, or that you are authorized to act for them.
- A statement that you believe in good faith the photo or video was shared without consent.
- Enough for us to find it: the name or email of the member who added it or the household's name, roughly when it was added, and what it shows. Do not send us the image.
- Your typed full name as your signature.
Where to send it
Email support@beansproutjournal.com with the subject "Removal request", or use the link below. Only our safety operators read these requests.
What happens next
We confirm we received your request. If something required is missing, we tell you what we need. Once your request is complete, we remove the photo or video within 48 hours and make reasonable efforts to remove identical copies we know of. We tell you when it is done. We do not identify you to the member who added it.
If the image shows a child, we also follow our child-safety procedure. The law may require us to preserve a copy for law enforcement and to report it. It is still removed from the journal.
If you are a member
You can also use the Report flag on the photo or video in the app. That report reaches the same people.
Requests made in bad faith
We may refuse a request about content that is not an intimate image of the person named, or that is made to harass a member. We keep a record of every request.
